Grapoila sunflower seed flour is produced in both organic and conventional versions. To our great delight, Grapoila Sunflower Seed Meal received a two-star, excellent rating in 2020 at the world’s most prestigious food tasting competition, Great Taste.
Sunflower is one of the best-known crops in Hungary, its seeds and the oil made from its seeds are known and consumed by almost everyone. However, flour made from its seeds is known to fewer, even though it contains valuable minerals and fiber and can be consumed in a variety of ways.
Sunflower seed meal is made from hulled sunflower seeds during the production of cold pressed oil. As a result, it has a lower fat content than sunflower seeds , but contains its valuable minerals. Because its carbohydrate content is extremely low, as well as contains only a negligible amount of naturally occurring sugars, it is excellent for inclusion in the diet. It has an exceptionally high protein and dietary fiber content and contains significant amounts of magnesium, zinc, selenium, manganese, copper and iron. Thus, by consuming sunflower seed meal, we can get a significant amount of valuable nutrients to our body.
Thanks to its soft taste, it can be used in the kitchen in many ways, whether for making sweet or savory food.
With sunflower flour we can thicken cream soups, sauces, sauces and vegetables. We can bake and cook with it in the same way as with wheat flour, we can even mix the two. Perfect ingredient for breads and pizzas, crackers, scones, cakes. (When baking with it, it is advisable to add a little ascorbic acid or grape seed flour to prevent the dough from changing, otherwise completely harmless, greenish color change.) We can also mix it into yoghurt, muesli, smoothie or shake, an excellent starter "protein cocktail."
