Skinny Food Protein Chips Paprika is the most 'classic' flavor in the entire series – and that's why I was most demanding of it. Everyone knows paprika chips. Everyone has their own idea of what they should taste like. And it's easy to be disappointed.
Fortunately, not this time.
As soon as you open the bag, you can smell the distinct, slightly smoky paprika. It's not fiery hot, but deep, slightly sweet, with a hint of dried paprika and a delicate chili background. The taste includes onion, garlic, and a pleasant umami from yeast. It is not a flat, one-dimensional flavor. It is layered: first sweet pepper, then a slight spiciness, and finally a dry, slightly smoky finish.
The manufacturer promises 'bold, smoky seasoning' and indeed, the seasoning is substantial. The 12% pepper blend in the composition is not just a symbolic sprinkling. These chips have character.
The texture is something I really appreciate in this series. They are popped, not fried, which makes them lighter than traditional potato chips. They are not soaked in fat and do not leave greasy marks on your fingers. They are very crunchy, but gentler on the stomach.
The macros really make a difference for chips:
- as much as 30% pea protein in the composition
- 30 g of protein in 100 g
- the entire 60 g package contains about 18 g of protein
- lower fat content than classic chips (13.6 g per 100 g)
This translates into a real feeling of satiety. I don't get that 'I've eaten and I'm still hungry' effect that often comes with regular crisps.
The ingredients are simple: corn, brown rice, pea protein, and paprika seasoning with xylitol added for a delicate flavor boost. No artificial sweetness, no strange aftertaste.
This is a good option:
- when you're craving classic paprika chips but want something more nutritionally sensible
- after a workout, when you crave something salty
- for work, travel, or an evening with your favorite TV show
It's still a snack. Still salty and flavorful. But one that really makes a difference – more protein, less heaviness, more thoughtful ingredients.
Peppers in a version that gives you the pleasure of crunching and at the same time 'gives back' in terms of macros.
