Speculoos are traditional Belgian cookies - shortbread, buttery, aromatic, with the addition of Ceylon cinnamon and partially caramelized sugar - this is where the legendary speculoos cream is made. Lotus biscuits with their history date back to 1932 - then the Belgian family bakery Boone began to make aromatic shortbread cakes according to a secret recipe - today Lotus Bakeries is a large enterprise, which, however, remains faithful to the original recipe and cultivates the tradition. Speculoos cream made on the basis of traditional cookies has a short history, since it has existed only since 2007 - a decade was enough, however, to conquer the taste buds of lovers of classic caramel Lotus biscuits. Els Scheppers, participating in the Belgian edition of the Inventor program, came up with the idea of ​​preparing cookie butter; the manufacturer picked up on her idea and the result was a biscuit cream that we can enjoy today.
