Instead of sugar, date powder (30%) was used here - a natural source of sweetness, fiber, vitamins and minerals. They are responsible for the presence of sugars in the nutritional value of the product, but they are only sugars of natural origin, not enriched or processed. The dates give the chocolate a caramel-fruit depth, while the carob (25%) provides a mild note that perfectly balances the cocoa flavor.

Benjamissimo Carob Dates chocolate was created without the use of cocoa powder or cocoa pulp - instead, carob and dates were used, which give it a mild, naturally sweet taste. The product does not contain cocoa protein, which is most often responsible for allergies.

However, one of the ingredients is cocoa butter - which is a vegetable fat pressed from cocoa beans. Cocoa butter contains trace amounts of cocoa proteins and theobromine, therefore:

• This chocolate may be suitable for people with digestive intolerance to cocoa or taste sensitivity (e.g. to cocoa bitterness),
• However, it is not suitable for people with a confirmed cocoa allergy or extreme hypersensitivity to theobromine - even though it does not contain cocoa powder, the presence of cocoa butter can be problematic.
