In the course of clinical trials involving continuous glucose monitoring, it has been proven that of the 21g carbohydrates contained in the Extend baton only 2g has a short-term effect on blood sugar levels. Fiber (5g), maltitol (6g - sugar alcohol), vegetable glycerin (3g) and uncooked maize starch (5g) are slow metabolized and have minimal effect on blood sugar levels.
