If you remember the first version of LoCCo spreads, you'll notice a few changes. The most important one? The new recipe has practically identical calorie content but has become even more refined. The spread is noticeably thicker, more compact, and adheres even better to pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal, while the manufacturer has completely eliminated maltitol. The new formula uses only erythritol and steviol glycosides from stevia as a source of sweetness.
LoCCo 8 Calorie Spread Caramel Cookie is a spread inspired by the taste of caramel cookies. It combines buttery, biscuit notes with delicate caramel and a subtle hint of toasted sugar. The flavor is warm, dessert-like, and pleasantly biscuity, evoking associations with freshly baked spiced cookies and caramel sponges. All of this is enclosed in a smooth, silky, exceptionally thick consistency, perfect for spreading and eating straight from the jar.
What has changed in the new LoCCo formula?
The biggest change is the recipe. The manufacturer has abandoned maltitol and sucralose, replacing them with a combination of erythritol and steviol glycosides. At the same time, they managed to maintain practically identical calorie content – approximately 150 kcal per 100g of product. However, the consistency has changed. The new version is even thicker and creamier, making it excellent as a spread, as well as an ingredient for desserts or baked goods.
The base of the spread remains water and inulin – a natural dietary fiber that is responsible for both the product's structure and its high fiber content. The result is a spread with exceptionally low fat content and a very satisfying consistency, differing from classic cookie spreads, which are usually based primarily on fat.
8 kcal per teaspoon and the taste of caramel cookies
LoCCo Caramel Cookie proves that a spread inspired by sweet cookies can remain exceptionally light. 100g of the spread provides only 150 kcal and just 2.3g of fat, and one teaspoon (5g) is approximately 8 kcal. At the same time, the spread contains as much as 17.2g of fiber per 100g, mainly due to the high content of inulin.
It pairs perfectly with oatmeal, rice pudding, pancakes, waffles, and omelets. It's great as an addition to yogurts, desserts, homemade protein ice cream, or creams for fit baked goods. Its thick consistency also allows it to be used as a filling for pancakes or a layer for cakes and tortes.
