Iorgos halva uses an unusual combination of sweet sources, half of which comes from sugar and half from xylitol - a gesture towards people who want or need to limit excess sugar in their diet for health reasons, but do not like the taste of sweeteners or react with gastric hypersensitivity to eating them. The combination of xylitol and sugar allows you to more than double the sugar content in halva and reduce its caloric content, while maintaining its naturally sweet, sugar-like taste.
